What does Casey's youth population look like?

The City of Casey’s 2011 youth population is 59,953. The number of young people is predicted to grow to 65,835 by 2016 and is forecast to reach 71,096 by 2020.

This forecast population growth brings about significant challenges to ensure that there are enough services provided. Particularly in relation to social and physical opportunities, including access to public transport, service access, employment opportunities and education.

What services does Casey provide for youth?

The aim of these services is to support the healthy physical, social and emotional development of young people, enhancing protective factors and working with them to develop their strengths and minimise the impact of risk factors in their lives.

Recently we consulted with the City of Casey’s youth so that we could plan for the future, which resulted in a new strategy ‘Youth Strategy 2011-2016’.
